LemonPunch This album is always surprising but has a great retro groove that makes me feel nostalgic and reminds me a bit of David Lynch's work. (Tells you what home was like!) Stellar musicians. Favorite track: Girl Zoo.

Coriander 04:02
Taken. Mistaken. It's a whole new odyssey. I come by it honestly. Broken. I'm broken. It's the way that you wanted me. It's the way that I want to be. Sadly, dropped you off my keychain. Sent you down the storm drain. Relieve me of all my pain. Back seat driver in my brain you got me. I'm restrained. I'm sorry. I abstain and you're deranged. Pander. Coriander. It smells like heaven to me just like you want it to be. Patience. Impatiens. You brought them from across the sea. Impressive but not what I need. Sadly, dropped you off my keychain. Sent you down the storm drain. Relieve me of all my pain. Back seat driver in my brain you got me. I'm restrained. I'm sorry. I abstain and you're deranged. Look at those who you bought. Look at those who you need. You’ll get the best of me, guaranteed. It's a deal, you'll agree. Disappoint who you want. Disappoint who you need. You’ll get the best of me, guaranteed. It's a deal but not for me. Let's agree to agree. Sadly, dropped you off my keychain. Sent you down the storm drain. Relieve me of all my pain. Back seat driver in my brain you got me. I'm restrained. I'm sorry. I abstain and you're deranged.

Solidthru 03:42
These towns of thieves we’ve learned to trust Fall down deceased and then turn to dust and then burn for us The crows and flies that wait outside Close their eyes ‘Til the flames subside and the day arrives And outside in the white They tell us all is right that this mystery is nothing rare But I don’t care that they do Because I know that you are lovely solidthru The great mistake that brought us here Will shake awake the atmosphere leaving what’s most dear Your enemies and mine Are all falling into line To confuse and malign And I don’t mind that they do Because I know that you are lovely solidthru The couriers of time descended and spoke They forwarded a line; they handed us a note To advise us to kindly abandon all hope Only leaving us to find that the end of the rope Was the beginning The crows and flies now testify The crowd divides Then lets us by and then says goodbye Your friends and maybe mine Are all falling into line And tell us this is for us to share And I’m aware now that it’s true Because I know that you are lovely solidthru

Kiss and tell, Never will. I can never get my fill. Need your stain on my brain. Not so secretly ashamed. Put you in a corner of my bed. Put you in my pocket, Keep you in my head. Cuz I like you. Yes I like you! That's why I penned this ode to TV. I resume you. I consume you. That's why I penned this ode to TV. That's why I penned this ode to TV. Say no more. You're for sure. I know what you have in store. Need your stain on my brain. Not so secretly ashamed. I can bribe you, Unsubscribe you. That's why I penned this ode to TV. I can leave you, When I need to. That's why I penned this ode to TV. Put you in a corner of my bed. Put you in my pocket, Keep you in my head. You don't love me. You don't need me. That's why I penned this ode to TV. You don't bleed me. You don't leave me. That's why I penned this ode to TV. See you nightly, Shining brightly. That's why I penned this ode to TV. I resume you. I consume you. That's why I penned this ode to TV. That's why I penned this ode to TV.

Closer 05:11
The men who built our town Are now drunk and dishonored Is this how you want it? They burned our symphonies Our psalms and our sonnets All our seascapes and still lives My darling, is this how you want it? When we were closer Than any two would dare But we never made it there The house where we dawdled Is now empty and haunted Is this how you want it? But the mice have been driven out And the snakes have been corners And the moths have surrendered My darling, is this how you want it? When we were closer Until it almost felt like home But we closed the night alone The railways, runways and tar Are outside awaiting you What are you waiting for? I’ll nail your heart to a start While heaven is baiting you What are you waiting for? I’ll hold you until it hurt you What are you waiting for? I’ll kiss you ‘til your good sense deserts you What are you waiting for? Is this how you want it? Well that isn’t going to bring us closer Closer As we stumbled toward the door Closer As we fumbled for the oars Just like he rows But he gets no closer to shore

Girl Zoo 04:17
Feeling small She can’t breathe out The air shimmers and shakes her As she tries to figure it out This piece of the con That keeps her hanging on The root reaches the fire Sends it out across the wire Casting off without a net Will she fall? Will she fall? And she’s off in the sky Don’t wait up She’s too high Let it infect you and grow in your bones Let it heal your wounds and cool your burns Feed that animal Feed that animal And she’s off in the sky Don’t wait up She’s too high In her wake know her grace Step off and meet her and rise OOOOOHHHH And she’s off in the sky Don’t wait up She’s too high In her wake know her grace Step off and meet her and Rise, rise, rise.

New Moon 04:47
The old days don’t want you The new days are on to you A new moon is waiting The future will haunt you The sorrows you undo A day late, and one too few The earth is embracing The starlight will shun you These days will murder you Your worries are ageless Your sky clear of saviors Drive off to a new moon And rest in the craters These dreams can hurt you too And if you start crying now You will cry forever If the tears start falling down They will fall forever And if you start falling down now You will fall forever And if you start crying now You will cry forever This love that surrounds us So shifting and boundless Awake in a new day And pray that it’s found us These days can murder you

You knew from early dawn How the day was getting on Your fear outruns it Now comes the sunset It’s a thing of wonder A rush of color With the ideal view And the best that you can do Is to gaze into the sunlight Gaze into the sun Preparing for that one night When your face is pale and drawn And your faith has left and gone And your fate is looking on just like the cat inside the window Your age, it suits you well Routines and rituals The days soar past And now comes your last (No no!) Don’t dream you’re powerless Just because your hourglass Is bottom heavy Your head’s so far from empty As you stare into the sunlight Stare into the sun So hard to see it done right When your made of breath and brawn And your mate has left and gone Your maker’s looking on just like the cat inside the window Stare into the sunlight Stare into the sun So many days undone by Those stairs that took you down And those stares that shook the ground The stars just look around just like the cat inside the window

Jenny 04:44
Jenny told a joke about a suicide. She never wrote a note. She never got a vote For exposing all of the feelings that she couldn’t hide. She sang it like a song only wants to move along with her life. Jenny got rich selling bags of vitamins. She never ate a one. Never went out in the sun. She just counted all her sins out into cookie tins. She never lost control. She never told a soul what’s in her mind. When she said she’d never lived, She knew life was such a gift. But oh it wouldn’t do… No not for her. The people wouldn’t pray before The one that they should so adore. Just let them eat their cake. Johnny followed Jenny on his bicycle. Thought her a superstar Keeping hearts inside a jar. For her to love him... it would be a miracle. Knew she was undersold. He saw that there was gold there in her eyes. Heaven knows we’re heaven sent… Heaven knows we’re heaven sent… When she said she’d never lived, She knew life was such a gift. But oh it wouldn’t do… No not for her. The people wouldn’t pray before The one that they should so adore. Just let them eat their cake.

Loped up like a bear in the night Wasn’t expecting it to feel so right I walked alone into this Piper played his melody That one I can’t resist And I haplessly fell Couldn’t stop myself Oh, I’ll never learn Put it all together Or rip it all apart It really doesn’t matter Where we stop or start The pattern repeats And I act surprised But I knew where I’d end up I know what I hide The sun looks like paper The air is gasoline I’m gonna leave this town So my insides will be clean And I haplessly fell Couldn’t stop myself Oh, I’ll never learn Bad love, bad love I’ll never learn

The trace of mechanics and grace that you leave in your wake So sweet and pure, there’s no mistake The weight of our hearts out awaiting a word on their fate Is crushing; The news is late So while the end is near Do you have a better idea? The roar of the crowd as our hearts are beaten out loud Will do me in and do you proud The thread in the letter that read I’d be better off dead Has been replaced; Read this instead So while the end is near And before your friends get here Do you have a better idea? Because you are killing me

about

The Daylilies Massachusetts

The Daylilies are a new band composed of living relics of Boston rock and roll history, including ex-members of the Fast Easy Women, Mistle Thrush, Reverse, PermaFrost & the Feather Lungs. Their sound can most easily be described as “pop,” though electronic rock, post-grunge and new wave are also frequently accurate. Triangulation finds their sound somewhere between Garbage, The Cars and Low. ... more
